Andrea has practiced in the field of speech language pathology since 1998, with specialty internships, fellowship, and experience in the clinical area of feeding and swallowing. Her initial educational focus and clinical specialty was treating neonates in the NICU, and performing medical interventions to children and adults from 0-102 years of age. This diverse, although specialized clinical resume has led her to her true professional passion which is hippotherapy. After growing up riding horses competitively, she gave up horses to pursue her education, get married, and start a family.
However, after more than ten years in traditional clinical practice when she first learned about hippotherapy, she was hooked and dove in to the coursework and certifications required to provide this specialty treatment modality! She was thrilled to find how the rhythm and movement of the horses so closely resembled high tech and costly interventions provided in other treatment settings. Even more importantly, when she first saw the intense and expedient effects and connections that hippotherapy had on children she knew it was her calling to start a practice where she can share these benefits with the greatest number of children with the greatest needs. So.... in September, 2012 TherHappy was born... and the rest is history! We have grown from a tiny shed in the corner of a farm to our current practice location and school on a 30 acre farm in Hudson!
The greatest joys of Andrea's life are her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling with her family and, of course, riding horses any time and anywhere she can! She has also recently taken up running, and enjoys running a half marathon once monthly!

My husband and I moved to Florida in 1997 from Chicago after a bitter snowstorm that made us realize we didn't need to stay there! I have a passion for photography; capturing the beauty in the world and special moments that can be frozen in time.
